Newcastle United head into the summer transfer window with an almighty rebuild required. A 12th-placed finish in the Premier League means no European football next season.
Eddie Howe and the transfer chiefs will need to get to work quickly to refresh for the 2026-27 campaign. That doesn’t just include new signings; there will also be outgoings, including Anthony Gordon, who has already joined Barcelona.

June 6th: Jaouen signs
Newcastle United’s first summer signing will be French goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen. The Magpies have agreed on a £24m deal with Reims to bring the 20-year-old to St James’ Park.
Jaouen is one of French football’s most highly-rated shot-stoppers. He will compete for the number one spot in Eddie Howe’s side.
Real Madrid even enquired about the Frenchman, but he is headed for Tyneside. As a result, Nick Pope looks likely to depart with Ipswich Town keen on a £5m deal.
