Newcastle international tracker: Alabi scores as FOUR prospects start

Sam Alabi supplied the latest Newcastle goal on Wednesday as England Under-18s beat Korea Republic 2-1. Michael Mills, Kyran Thompson and Roman Dowell also started.

The window has already brought goals for Yoane Wissa and Bazoumana Touré, an assist for Aladji Bamba and further international appearances for Lewis Hall.

Sam Alabi scores as four Newcastle youngsters start

Alabi opened the scoring against Korea Republic with a powerful long-range effort before England secured victory through Ryan Kavuma-McQueen’s late winner.

The FA’s official match report also highlighted important saves from Dowell during the first half.

England finished their group programme with three wins from three and will play their semi-final on Saturday 3 October.

Scotland U19s lose to Ukraine

Scotland’s final friendly in Spain ended in a 2-0 defeat to Ukraine on Wednesday, according to the match result recorded by Sofascore.

Alfie Hutchison’s involvement in that match has not yet been verified.

Park was an unused substitute as South Korea beat China 2-1 in their Asian Games semi-final.
