Newcastle United ready to move fast to sign World Cup midfielder

Newcastle United’s midfield looks set to undergo a shuffle in this summer transfer window. It is worth pointing out that Sandro Tonali, one of the best in the world in his position, looks likely to leave. Some of Premier League’s top clubs are eyeing a move for him.

Tottenham Hotspur seem to be the most interested and have already made a failed bid. They are expected to come back with a better offer as the Magpies look for around £100 million to part ways with Tonali.

Manchester City and Arsenal are believed to hold an interest in the midfielder as well. Now, it remains to be seen where he will end up, if he does indeed leave Newcastle United this summer.

On the other hand, if Tonali does end up leaving, the club will need to bring in reinforcements. And it appears that the Magpies already have a Senegalese World Cupper on their radar.

Newcastle United interested in Senegalese World Cup midfielder

The World Cup is in full swing right now. And the eyes of the globe are on the tournament. There are high expectations surrounding Senegal.

They lost their first game at the hands of France, but you cannot always deal with the brilliance of players like Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele and Michael Olise. One player who was tasked with doing that is Lamine Camara, who started in the middle of the park for Senegal.

It remains to be seen whether Camara starts against Norway in today’s game or not. On the other hand, when it comes to the club level, his future might lie at St James’ Park.

According to Football Insider, Newcastle United are ready to use the money from a potential exit for Tonali to sign Camara. The Magpies are prepared to “move quickly” for the AS Monaco midfielder.

Camara move seems to depend on Tonali exit

Newcastle United are believed to have been keeping an eye on Camara for a little while now. And they might be wary that a good run of World Cup performances might catch the eye of other clubs.

So, Newcastle United might need to move quickly. That being said, it does look like any such move is dependent on Tonali and his future.

There is every possibility that the Tonali saga could drag on, just like the Alexander Isak to Liverpool move last summer. In that case, The Magpies might not be in a position to make a quick move even if they want to.

For now, the only thing we can do is wait and watch. The news does give Newcastle United fans a reason to keep a closer eye on the upcoming Norway vs Senegal game tonight.
