Newcastle United heavily linked with move for FSV Mainz player

Newcastle United are set to move back in for  Yoshinori Muto of  FSV Mainz, according to Sport Witness.

The player is keen on a move away from Germany with the Premier League reportedly his preferred destination.

Newcastle are being heavily linked with the player as they look to build on their solid first season back in the Premier League.

Muto is a versatile player who can flourish in any of the front three positions, however he has mainly been playing in the central attacking role for the German side this season.

Muto has enjoyed a fine season for Mainz, scoring 9 goals in just 28 games and laying on two assists.

The player is contracted to Mainz until 2019 but Newcastle are hopeful of getting a deal to bring him to St James’ Park done this summer.

The player spoke of his desire to play in the Premier League in a recent interview:

“I cannot say much, but it has always been my goal to play in the Premier League.”
