Newcastle United have seen Anthony Gordon leave the club for Barcelona in this ongoing summer window. At the same time, they have signed a winger as his replacement as well.
Bazoumana Toure has been brought in from Hoffenheim. He was very highly regarded in the Bundesliga and even earned comparisons with Ousmane Dembele for his style of play.
But just Toure might not be enough to adequately strengthen a Newcastle United team that finished 10th in the Premier League last season. They need another quality option on the flank.
Abde Ezzalzouli of Real Betis has been linked with Newcastle United. Aston Villa were also said to be interested in him though. But now, it looks like one part of that equation might have been solved for the Magpies.
Fabrizio Romano’s news helps Newcastle United as well
According to Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea. It has been given the ‘here we go ‘ tag.
A club-to-club agreement has been done on a loan with a buy clause that becomes mandatory under certain conditions. Unai Emery wanted Garnacho.
In a further update on the situation, Romano has confirmed that the obligation to buy clause is considered easy to reach, almost guaranteed.
So, expect Garnacho to be an Aston Villa player moving forward. And that could help Newcastle United in their reported pursuit of Ezzalzouli, as it is hard to imagine that the Villans would go after him after having signed the Chelsea winger.

Of course, we have already seen Newcastle United struggle this summer, when it comes to competing with other clubs to sign their key targets.
In fact, they have already lost out to Aston Villa once when the Magpies agreed a deal with SC Freiburg but were not able to convince Johan Manzambi to make the move to St James’ Park.
It was not a unique situation either. The same happened with Victor Munoz as well, who made a last-minute switch to Liverpool instead of Newcastle United.
So, it is very possible that the same could happen once again. So, other teams dropping out of the race to sign players they want can only help Newcastle United. They do not have Champions League football on offer.
Now, do not get me wrong, this is no guarantee that Ezzalzouli will end up at Newcastle United or that a move will even be made. But at the very least, it gives the Magpies a better opportunity if they want to make it happen.
