‘Out for a long time’ – Newcastle United handed bad news

Things are looking up for Newcastle United after a little while. For the entire summer, there was a cloud of negativity around the club as key players left, as did long-time manager Eddie Howe.

In the aftermath, many even tipped Newcastle United as potential relegation contenders. And while it is still far too early to make any judgements, it does not feel like this team is going to be anywhere near that picture.

The results have been very good to start with. And some quality additions have been made as well towards the end of the summer transfer window.

That being said, there are some things to be worried about as well. And unfortunately, it looks like one of their players is going to be ‘out for a long time’.

Newcastle United player out for a long time

Earlier today, we had reported about William Osula needing some time to recover from his injury picked up in the opening game of the campaign against Liverpool, which could see him out for at least the next month or so. And now we have some more clarity on the striker’s situation.

According to Viaplay, Osula is out for a long time after he suffered an injury against Liverpool. Since then, Osula has worn a splint.

As a result, it is also doubtful whether the Denmark international player will be ready for the national team matches later in September.

Should Newcastle start worrying?

Of course, while Danish outlets will be worried about Osula’s participation, Newcastle United fans will be more concerned about his availability for the Magpies’ upcoming matches.

Fortunately, with the signing of Matias Fernandez-Pardo on deadline day, Newcastle United now have two quality options capable of playing up front.

Fernandez-Pardo is one of the most highly rated young strikers in all of Europe. He was linked with Liverpool, Arsenal and more before his move to Newcastle United. So, expect him to have a prominent role this season.

On the other hand, Yoane Wissa has looked like a man reborn since the appointment of Matthias Jaissle this summer. He has arguably been Newcastle United’s standout performer so far this season. And it is not just about the goals. He has been exceptional with his overall play as well.

As long as those two remain fit, Newcastle United should have more than enough to deal with the absence of Osula. We wish him a complete and speedy recovery.

One exit that needs to be pointed out is that of Nick Woltemade. It simply was not working out for him at St James‘ Park. So, he has swapped the black-and-white jersey of Newcastle United for that of Juventus on a season-long loan deal.
