Newcastle United have already seen a ton of quality leave the club this summer. Anthony Gordon joined FC Barcelona. Sandro Tonali moved to Tottenham Hotspur. And Bruno Guimaraes has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal.
Another player who has been constantly linked with a move away is Lewis Hall. The Englishman is widely considered one of the best left-backs in the Premier League.
Unsurprisingly, he has drawn the attention of other clubs. Both Manchester United and Arsenal are thought to be interested in signing Hall from Newcastle United.
Of course, such a move would only be possible if the player pushes for it. As far as Newcastle United are concerned, there should not be an urgent need for funds after pocketing in the region of £170 million following the exits of Gordon and Tonali. That being said, the Magpies might need to meet one of Hall’s demands to convince him to stay at St James’ Park.
Lewis Hall has one demand to stay at Newcastle amid Manchester United interest
According to Football FanCast, Hall wants to join Manchester United. The Englishman will formally demand a transfer to Old Trafford in talks with the manager and owners if not guaranteed the first-choice role.
If that is all Hall is looking for to stay put at St James’ Park, then the club should meet his demands without asking many other questions, to be honest.
Hall was pretty much the starter for most of last season as well. He started in 24 games, came on as a substitute in six and was left on the bench for four. He missed the other four through injury.
Over the last few weeks, we have seen Newcastle United being linked with other left-backs. But any move should be made keeping Hall as the first-choice in their plans.
Hall’s demand to Newcastle United is understandable
When fit and available, many consider Hall to be the best left-back in the Premier League. If not, he certainly has the talent and potential to develop into that.
Now, Newcastle United need to make sure that he is given the required chances. It is clear that he wants to be the nailed-on starter at left-back. And to be fair, that is understandable demand.
Newcastle United simply cannot afford to lose out on someone like Hall, especially in this summer window when so many other quality players have already departed.
There is no doubt what the fans would prefer. Now, it remains to be seen if the Magpies are able to find an agreement with the youngster or not.
