Allan Saint-Maximin posts picture on social media after Man Utd defeat

Newcastle suffered a 4-1 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday and Allan Saint-Maximin posted a picture on his Instagram story of his involvement in the game.

The 24-year-old managed to grab an assist at Old Trafford to level the match before the hour mark, but the hosts quickly restored their lead and went on to double their advantage in the 80th minute before turning the game into a rout in injury time.

Saint-Maximin has made five appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal with two assists. The uncapped French forward is currently operating as a makeshift striker following injury to Callum Wilson, so he might get a run of games up front.

Joelinton is also an option for Steve Bruce, but the 25-year-old has yet to score or make an assist in four Premier League appearances, so he’s not as reliable as Saint-Maximin. Next up for Newcastle is a meeting with Leeds United on Friday evening.

The Magpies are 19th in the Premier League with only one point from a possible 12, so they can’t afford another defeat.
