Newcastle fans react to Hamza Choudhury loan links

A number of Newcastle United fans have been reacting to a report from Chronicle Live that Leicester City view Hamza Choudhury as an important player for the future but they are keen for him to go out on loan, with the Magpies one of clubs in the frame.

Steve Bruce has already made it clear that the Magpies will only be able to target loan additions this month, while journalist Liam Kennedy claimed that Newcastle are trying to ensure that they bring in midfield reinforcements before the window closes. Therefore, St James’ Park could be a suitable destination for Choudhury.

It was reported that he had been offered to Newcastle for a potential loan move until the end of the season. It has now emerged that Leicester, despite wanting him to go on loan and get regular game-time during the rest of the campaign, still view the 23-year-old as an important player to have in their squad over the next few years, per Chronicle Live.

Therefore, any loan move would be purely that rather than containing a purchase option.

Newcastle fans split over potential Choudhury arrival

Many Newcastle fans were open to the idea of the Leicester midfielder arriving this month, believing that he would at least be an upgrade on the current options available to Bruce. However, others feel that it would be another short-sighted move and that Choudhury does not offer the attacking qualities the low-scoring Magpies need.
