Recent signing Rodrigo Vilca, has shown fans a glimpse of the ability that earned him his move this summer with a pinpoint free-kick during the Under 23s warm-ups on Monday night.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder fired his effort into the top left-hand corner and the moment was captured and broadcast on Twitter by the Chronicles Lee Ryder.
Geordie fans reacted to the strike and some even suggested he should be promoted to first-team action. ..

Newcastle’s Under 23s came out on top of their Premier League 2 clash with Fulham, boss Steve Bruce was watching his youngsters from the stands. Vilca playing all 90 minutes in a 2-1 victory, Yannick Toure and Stanley Flaherty with the goals.
Vilca, a number 10 by trade, was signed for £225k from the Peruvian top-flight in an eyebrow-raising deal for a player from a league, usually regarded as low down the pecking order in terms of European clubs looking for potential signings.
That said the Magpies have an affinity with players hailing from Peru. Club legend Nolberto Solano was signed back in 1998 from Boca Juniors and went on to enjoy a successful spell at St James’ Park.

The signing of Vilca came very much from the left-field, however, there’s every chance the Toon could have unearthed a talent missed by other scouting teams, perhaps those who weren’t necessarily paying close attention to the goings-on in Peru.
But with Solano in mind, the Magpies would be wise to keep one eye on any prospects from the South American nation.
Whilst talk of a first-team call up may yet be too soon, this strike certainly shows the lad has the ability.
