Ayoze Perez believes that Newcastle United’s battling victory over Blackburn Rovers in the third round of the FA Cup is the perfect result ahead of their crucial encounter against Cardiff City on Saturday.
As reported on the Chronicle Live, Perez came on at Ewood Park and netted the Magpies’ fourth goal in extra time in the 4-2 victory.
The win sees Newcastle progress into the fourth round of the competition, where they will face fellow Premier League side Watford.
After the win, Perez said:
It is important to get that winning feeling back.
There is nothing better than getting back to the dressing room after a win, it’s just great. In terms of the game being physical, the guys are really tired but that is what the competition is about and we must get on with it.
It is a good feeling and now we must transfer it to Saturday’s game against Cardiff.
