Borussia Dortmund join race for Newcastle target

Borussia Dortmund are the latest club to join the race for Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup who has been rumoured to be moving to a number of clubs around Europe according to Sport Witness.

There has, in recent weeks, been strong links with the player moving to Premier League club Newcastle United with it being reported that the club have held some talks with the player.

Dortmund are now thought to be keen on the player whilst the player is open to extending his stay at the Turkish club Beskitas.

The Toon are hoping to land the player for a cheap deal as they look to build to next season

The 25-year-olds deal comes to an end at the end of this season but he has a €12m buyout clause in his contract which could be triggered by Dortmund at the climax of the season.

Dortmund have been scouting the player for a number of months now and are impressed with what they have seen and are prepared to make a move.

Newcastle are heavily interested and will be able to cope with wage demands of the player.

The club are prepared to pay his wage demands of €2.5m a season although a move on a free transfer seems highly unlikely.
