Townsend wants Toon move

Andros Townsend is believed to favour a move to Newcastle United rather than West Bromwich Albion. Sky Sources believe both the player and the club are willing to make the move happen.

Newcastle United have seemingly decided to make their intent known this window and are risking big. They’ve already brought in Henri Saivet €6-million figure and Jonjo Shelvey looks to be just a medical away from a move to St. James’ Park.

Townsend has long being courted by Newcastle United, with the side struggling to find width and pace out wide. The natural winger would add creativity and attacking threat in abundance.

The proposed deal may scupper Spur’s attempts to sign Saido Berahino, as the two players were being considered for a swap deal including cash. Newcastle themselves have been linked with a £18-million deal for Berahino, which would make him their record signing.

Keep yours eyes peeled, the transfers on Tyneside are coming thick and fast.
