Newcastle manager Steve McClaren is set to lock horns with former-Magpies and now Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew after it has been revealed that the pair have similar transfer targets for the January transfer window.
Although the two sides are at opposite ends of the table, with Newcastle fighting for survival and Palace pushing on for European football, the two Englishmen are looking to sign the same kind of players, according to reports.
Three transfer targets that the pair are reportedly looking at come in the form of out of favour Swansea midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, long-term target Charlie Austin and the highly sought after Chelsea forward Loic Remy.

It is clear to see the areas in which McClaren and Pardew are looking to strengthen in, with goals from the two sides’ forwards coming more rarely than what was first hoped for.
There is no doubt that if Newcastle are to sign any of these three targets ahead of Palace and other potential suitors, it will be a big boost to their survival chances.
