Dummett: We haven’t been good enough in 2015

Newcastle defender Paul Dummett has admitted that his side simply have not been good enough this year, and is hoping that the Magpies can get off to a better start in 2016 as they face top of the league Arsenal this weekend.

It has been no secret that the Toon have been in bad form throughout the course of 2015, with different managers but ultimately the same poor results.

However, Dummett will be hoping that their fortunes will change in the coming year as they currently find themselves in the relegation zone and in concerning form.

After their 1-0 defeat at West Brom on Monday, Steve McClaren’s men fell to 18th in the league, but the Welsh left-back has spoken of how the players simply have to keep their heads up and look forward to their next challenge, with league leaders Arsenal in their sights (quotes from the Chronicle).

“We need to get over this and look at what we can do better,” Dummett said.

We haven’t won enough games as a club or as a team.

“It’s not good enough for Newcastle United to be in the position they are. The manager believes in us as players, so it is up to us to get out of this position.”
