Amid Newcastle’s current crisis, head coach Steve McClaren held a ‘heart-to-heart’ meeting with out-of-form French winger Moussa Sissoko.
Sissoko has been consistently inconsistent so far this season, putting in some stellar performances, along with some dreadful ones.
Despite constantly reiterating his desire to one day play in the Champions League, the enigmatic powerhouse is still seen as an influential player around the training ground and dressing room.

During his serious talks with McClaren, Sissoko ‘pointed to the losing culture’ present at the club, according to the Chronicle.
He feels that the confidence surrounding the team has been crushed due to a series of heavy defeats in the past year.
McClaren has also eluded to this in a pre-match conference this afternoon, saying:
I was talking to Moussa, we’ve won four or five games in a year and that doesn’t breed confidence or belief. We still have to fight.
The Magpies have suffered harrowing defeats at the hands of Manchester City, Sunderland, Leicester and Crystal Palace this season, which has led the fans to believe that the club’s time in the Premier League is coming to an end.
