Newcastle United are ready to offer a new deal to fan favourite Ayoze Perez amid interest from Premier League mammoths Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Chronicle.
The dazzling Spanish attacker has impressed this season for the Magpies, building on his good displays from last season in the process. He was the surprise package in the Premier League for Newcastle last season, with not many people familiar with his name before he started scoring goals in Tyneside.
Despite being one of Newcastle’s most valued players at the minute, he currently sits on the same weekly wage that he was offered when he first joined the club from Tenerife for a mere £2m.
This has led Newcastle to consider offering him an extension on his contract – with a boost in his wages. The Magpies are hopeful that a deserved wage increase will tie down Ayoze’s immediate future to the club.
It is likely that one of Manchester United, Spurs or Arsenal are going to launch an ambitious bid, so Newcastle must be prepared to do anything they can to keep the in-form forward on Tyneside.
