Newcastle United currently boast the joint-highest tally of injured players in the Premier League with ten, as per PhysioRoom.
Among the long list of players sidelined through injury on Tyneside is Jack Colback, who sustained a knee injury against Sunderland last month and was expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks.
Steve McClaren has spoken about the midfielder’s injury and confirmed he is progressing well – meaning he should be back in December (if not sooner).

“Jack’s progressing really well, and we’re delighted with him so far,” McClaren told reporters – quoted by Shields Gazette.
However, it isn’t all good news for Newcastle fans as McClaren went on to confirm three Newcastle players had suffered setbacks.
Firstly, he mentioned Steven Taylor, whose hamstring injury was expected to leave him sidelined until early December.
“Steven will be fighting to play any part in December,” said McClaren . “We’re probably looking more at the start of next year with him.”
Then fan-favourite Rolando Aarons was mentioned: “Unfortunately, Rolando is still on crutches so we’re not really sure how long that will take.”

“At the moment, we’re just trying to focus on the fit ones.”
The 18-year-old has suffered a string of injury setbacks since bursting onto the scene last season, but Aarons has vowed to funnel his frustration and to bounce back stronger.
Frustrated is an understatement, you’re probably bored of seeing this but just gonna have to come back and prove a lot of people wrong…… — Rolando Aarons (@R_Aarons16) November 3, 2015
Lastly, French outcast Emmanuel Riviere, who sustained a knee injury in training which eventually required surgery: “Manu keeps having little setbacks and niggles, but we’re hoping we might get him back into training in the next week or two,” said McClaren.
