Gael Bigirimana could be about to call time on his Newcastle career, according to fresh reports by Mark Douglas of The Chronicle.
Since arriving on Tyneside in 2012, Bigirimana has only made a handful of first-team appearances due to a string of injuries which thwarted his progress. He has now become a forgotten man in the development side and is looking to prove himself out on loan.
Coventry City, who pocketed £1million from Bigirimana’s sale in 2012, have followed his progress and have been linked with a possible loan move ahead of the emergency loan deadline.
The Sky Blues are reportedly in the market for defensive reinforcements but, following the success of Adam Armstrong’s spell at the Ricoh Arena, they could be tempted to re-sign Bigirimana on loan – if a deal can be struck.
It is believed Newcastle are doing all they can to offload players ahead of the January transfer window, in order to free up room and extra funds.
