Five Newcastle players made available for loan

Five Newcastle players made available for loan

The transfer window slammed shut at 6pm on Tuesday, but Newcastle’s work in the transfer market is far from completion. According to the Northern Echo, the Magpies are still attempting to offload five players – on loan.

Last season’s regulars Mike Williamson and Yoan Gouffran are among the names being linked with an exit from the club. Brighton have expressed an interest in Williamson, while Hull City remain hopeful of winning the race for Gouffran’s signature – just days after being linked with a £4.2million move to the KC Stadium.

The duo have slipped down the pecking order due to the arrivals of Chancel Mbemba from RSC Anderlecht and Florian Thauvin from Marseille, as well as the emergence of Rolando Aarons from the youth ranks

Rob Elliot is also available for loan, having slipped down the pecking order following the arrival of Karl Darlow from Nottingham Forest. Gael Bigirimana and Curtis Good are the remaining two fringe players that Steve McClaren is hoping to offload – though the report fails to identify whether any clubs are interested in the fringe trio.
