Newcastle have sent a delegation to Marseille to meet Florian Thauvin and escort him to Tyneside ahead of a medical tomorrow, according to Sky Sports. As part of the deal, Remy Cabella will be joining Marseille.
Cabella arrived on Tyneside last summer for a reported £12million, but has failed to live up to his hefty price-tag – with just one goal and two assists in 31 appearances last campaign.
While he was initially expected to join the Ligue 1 outfit on a season-long loan with a view to permanent, the clubs have reportedly agreed an £8million fee for the permanent transfer of the 25-year-old, as per The Chronicle.

His transfer fee will be deducted from Thauvin’s meaning Newcastle’s total outlay will be roughly £4million.
Meanwhile, fringe duo Haris Vuckic and Mehdi Abeid are set for exits , with the latter currently in Greece looking to finalise a £250,000 move to Panathinaikos, while the former has attracted attention from former club Rangers.
