Moussa Sissoko is the subject of interest for a host of Premier League sides including Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and reigning Premier League champions Chelsea, according to the Express.
The 25-year-old is weighing up his options with his agent ahead of new the season, amid a £17million price tag placed on the French midfielder’s head by the Newcastle board. Sissoko will need assurance of regular first team football wherever he ends up, as France manager Didier Deschamps demanded that any player looking to represent the host country of next year’s Euro 2016 tournament must be up to a high enough standard in quality as well as match fitness.
Sissoko was once quoted as admiring Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho’s coaching style, saying in a previous interview: “He [Mourinho] is one of the best managers in the world. He has won so many titles. Any player would love to be coached by this man.
“If one day I have the chance to work under his guidance, I would be very happy.”
However, Sissoko was also quoted 3 days after the season had finished saying he’s happy on Tyneside and has no plans to leave this summer as yet.
He said: “We have some holidays now and I hope next year, we will be better. Everybody knows we are a good team. We can do much better.
“I still have four years on my contract, and I am very happy to be staying here with Newcastle. I will be back in Newcastle in July, and I am still here and still happy.”
His exit could pave the way for Paris-Saint Germain outcast Yohan Cabaye to return to St James’ Park, with several news outlets reporting Newcastle’s interest in the 29-year-old.
