Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is looking to raid his former employers for goalkeeping coach Andy Woodman, according to The Chronicle.
Pardew – who has been linked with moves for Tim Krul and Papiss Cisse in recent weeks – previously attempted to take Woodman with him when he departed for Selhurst Park in January, but the compensation fee for the coach couldn’t be agreed between the two clubs.
The 53-year-old has worked with several goalkeepers during his time on Tyneside, including Tim Krul, Fraser Forster and Steve Harper, and is highly regarded by Pardew.
His son, Freddie Woodman, is also on Newcastle’s books and is tipped to become a future England international. The young goalkeeper is being heavily linked with a cut-price move to Arsenal and Southampton this summer.
If his father does leave for Crystal Palace, Freddie could call time on his Newcastle career in favour of a switch to a London based Premier League club.
