Forgotten man Facundo Ferreyra has refused to give up on earning a permanent move to Newcastle United this summer, despite failing to make a single appearance for the club in his 7 month loan spell.
As a result of conflict in eastern Ukraine, Ferreyra signed on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk last August with many expecting huge things from the Argentine wonderkid.
Since then, injuries and the development of Ayoze Perez have prevented the 23-year-old breaking into the first-team but, with Cisse banned for the next seven games, his debut could be on the horizon.
Facundo is currently working his way back to full fitness, following a slipped disc, in a last-gasp attempt to showcase what he has to offer to Graham Carr & co.
“I have not been lucky enough to play due to physical problems, but I am working to get well and stay on the field because I would love to stay and play here,” Facundo confessed.
“The team was already established when I arrived, and when I started to feel good, I had this injury and I’m struggling with that.”
“The truth is it’s great [in England] because I think the Premier League is the best league in the world. It is a very physical league. The defenders are very strong, and you must be able to withstand rigour.”
“Here if you are not good physically you can not play.”
Chucky went on to admit he will reluctantly return to Shakhtar if the Magpies do not wish to sign him.
“I hope to stay. If not, I can return to Shakhtar and see if I want to stay there or not,” he admitted.
“In case I do not, I will have to go on loan. But I will fight to see if I am to play in Europe. I trust my ability and think I can do it.”
