In an interview with Le 10 Sport, Pierre Menes confirmed Andre Ayew is hoping to secure a move to the Premier League this summer, alerting a number of potential suitors, including Newcastle.
With just six months remaining on his current deal, as well as failing to agree personal terms with club president Vincent Labrune thus far, Andre is set to depart Olympique de Marseille this summer on a free transfer.
In spite of this, the Ghanaian international admitted he is hopeful of another round of renewal talks with Vincent: “I honestly do not know what my future will bring. I need to see Mr. Labrune soon, with my father. I do not have an agent as I hear everywhere.”
Newcastle remain confident of signing Ayew this summer, despite him actively looking to renegotiate his current deal with Les Phocéens, as Graham Carr hopes the attraction of Premier League football will be enough to fight off other interested parties.
Recently, in an interview with Foot Marseille, Pierre Menes announced: “The fans say Andre Ayew will go on free and it is the fault of Labrune . You should know that Vincent Labrune tried a thousand times to extend Andre Ayew’s contract. We can also understand that Andre Ayew, who is has been at Marseille for many years, he wants to try his luck in the Premier League.”
Meanwhile, Graham Carr will also pursue his interest in AS Monaco defender Yarouba Cissako, as a result of the Magpies’ inadequate defensive depth being exposed since the turn of the year.
