Nick Woltemade at Newcastle United
Things at St James’ Park have not unfolded as planned for Nick Woltemade. In his first five Premier League games, he scored four goals. However, he lost form and rhythm as the season progressed. Experts even labelled the former Werder Bremen attacker the worst signing in Premier League history. This criticism affected the sensitive player significantly.
Career Before Newcastle United
Before joining the Magpies, Woltemade built a reputation at Werder Bremen. Indeed, his time in Stuttgart remains a clear story of success. He developed his game in Germany before moving to England. Nevertheless, the transition to the Premier League proved difficult for the young forward.
Career History Overview
Woltemade played across multiple positions during his debut campaign. Consequently, he struggled to maintain confidence while adapting to new tactical demands. Johann Schicklinski noted that these frequent positional changes hindered his progress at the club.
