Newcastle United player returns in good news for Matthias Jaissle

Newcastle United fans were left deflated following the 4-1 defeat at the hands of Leeds in the previous matchday. But then again, it is important to remember that the season is still young and there is still a lot of football to be played.

One result is not going to determine the season. And bad results can happen to anybody. Just look at Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea. They were being considered title contenders after the first few weeks.

Now, they have lost two of their past three games in the Premier League, with the recent one being a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Brentford. So, that is how quickly things can change.

Newcastle United have had their injury problems, and were not the strongest squad to begin with. So, the return of one of their players could help them at this difficult point in time.

Newcastle United player returns to training from injury

Newcastle United have posted a video from training of their goalkeepers. And Ewen Jaouen is one player who was present, taking part with his teammates.

Signed this summer from Reims, Jaouen has been placed as the cover goalkeeper for Newcastle United this season. He has had his fitness issues, but is now back.

Of course, that does not mean that he will start getting first-team minutes. He remains the cover option to Lukas Hornicek for now. But the Magpies have their number 2 back.

As for Nick Pope, this could be the end of the road, after he had managed to get into the matchday squad due to the injury problems of Jaoen.
