After the departure of key players like Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, and Anthony Gordon this summer, Newcastle United also went through a poor pre-season, giving us the notion that they could find themselves in a relegation battle this season.
But somewhat unexpectedly, the Magpies have looked very good from the very first competitive game. They were able to hold Liverpool to a 2-2 draw at home and secure a 2-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur away in London.
They have strengthened their squad further as well. The signings of Nico Gonzalez and Amar Dedic look set to be high-value additions to bolster the depth of the team. The recent arrival of Matias Fernandez-Pardo on deadline day put the finish touches on their summer rebuild.
After the recent closure of the transfer window, Newcastle United are going to welcome Bournemouth to St James’ Park for their third Premier League match of the campaign this weekend. Here is how you can tune in to the action.

Match Preview of Newcastle vs Bournemouth
Bournemouth also had a busy summer window, and have a new manager in place as well. However, their results in the first couple of matches so far have not been up to the mark.
Newcastle United could be favourites against the Cherries, as under Matthias Jaissle, the team have gained newfound momentum at a very early phase of the season.
