- Newcastle United linked with Jarrod Bowen transfer
- England international also wanted by Liverpool and Everton
- Darren Bent urges West Ham man to choose Tyneside
West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen has been urged to make the ‘logical move’ and join Newcastle United, instead of Liverpool or Everton, by ex Premier League striker Darren Bent.
Bowen could have a seismic month, experiencing relegation with West Ham and being called up to the World Cup squad by England manager Thomas Tuchel.
The Hammers sit 18th in the table going into the final day of the season. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side host Leeds United at the London Stadium as they look to catch Tottenham Hotspur, who welcome Everton.

Whether or not West Ham are relegated, it’s been reported that Bowen will push to leave the club after more than six years.
Bowen arrived at the club from Hull City for £22 million in January 2020 and has gone on to cement himself as one of the Premier League’s most consistent forwards. The striker has 64 goals and 53 assists in the top flight.
talkSPORT had carried reports of transfer interest in the player from Liverpool and Everton, as well as Newcastle United. Ex Aston Villa and Spurs man Bent believes that Bowen should fancy his chances on Tyneside.
Darren Bent – Newcastle ‘logical move’ for West Ham man
Bent told the radio station: “For me, the logical move for Jarrod Bowen, if he was to leave West Ham and stay in the Premier League, would be Newcastle.”
The former striker also put a price tag of between £40 million and £50 million on Bowen’s head. That could be affordable for the Magpies, who are set to sell Anthony Gordon for around £75 million.
The winger has already agreed personal terms with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich but the two clubs remain locked in negotiations over a fee.
At 29 years old, signing Bowen would be a step away from the new priority strategy at St James’ Park of recruiting young and looking to sell players on for a profit. Bowen is already in – and potentially past – his prime.
However, should Gordon exit, Newcastle will need to add a player to their roster to replace the loss of 176 Premier League appearances of experience that the former Everton man has. Bowen would certainly do that and, should West Ham be relegated, the club will be under pressure to sell.
Speaking about his big decision this week, Bowen said: “I’ve done it since I’ve been at Hull. I sit down at the end of every season and think, what’s best for me? What do I feel? What’s my gut feeling? And then make a decision and go with it there.
“A lot of stuff gets printed. That’s what happens in social media and in newspapers these days. A lot of false things get put out there.
“When there’s time to speak and time to address different things, then it will come from me because that’s how I work.”
