Allan Saint-Maximin posts vid and pic on Instagram after scoring in Southampton draw

Newcastle United drew 2-2 with Southampton on Saturday afternoon and Allan Saint-Maximin got himself on the scoresheet at St James’ Park. The 24-year-old thought he’d won the game in injury time after firing home from close range when a saved effort rebounded his way, but James Ward-Prowse equalised late on.

Nevertheless, Saint-Maximin hailed his first goal of the season by posting pictures on his Instagram story. The former French youth international has now had a hand in two goals from his first three Premier League appearances and will no doubt hope to bag against Manchester United after the international break.

The 24-year-old joined the Magpies from OGC Nice in 2019 and has gone on to make 60 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals with 12 assists. His future at St James’ Park was uncertain last season amid disillusionment with how Newcastle have fared in the Premier League, but he remains in the North-East and has five more years on his contract.

The supporters love Saint-Maximin and his social media antics show he’s happy at Newcastle right now.
