Joe Willock joined Newcastle United on a permanent deal from Arsenal on Friday and has been hailed by supporters and friends alike.
Many hope the 21-year-old can realise his potential in the North-East after making the difficult decision to leave his boyhood club and new teammate Jamaal Lascelles was particularly excited to welcome Willock back to St James’ Park.
The Magpies centre-back celebrated the signing on his Instagram story and sent a message to Willock ahead of Sunday’s Premier League meeting with West Ham United.

Lascelles has spent seven years at Newcastle after joining from Nottingham Forest and has gone on to make 187 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals with four assists.
The 27-year-old is club captain and no doubt enjoyed Willock’s impressive form while on loan last season, so it’s understandable why so many are excited that he’s signed permanently.
As for Willock, he bagged an incredible eight goals from 14 games in midfield and clearly valued first-team football over sitting on the bench at Arsenal, so supporters need not worry if he’s hungry enough.
