Newcastle fans hammer Emil Krafth’s performance against Man Utd

A number of Newcastle supporters have raged over Emil Krafth‘s “hopeless” performance in the 3-1 defeat at Manchester United on Sunday night.

The Magpies came into the game aiming to put the 2-0 loss at Chelsea behind them and produce an improved performance from the defeat at Stamford Bridge. Newcastle were much better, especially in the first half, but they were ultimately on the end of another defeat which now leaves them just three points clear of a resurgent Fulham side in 18th.

One player who struggled for Newcastle at Old Trafford was Krafth, with the full-back once again enduring a torrid evening as he had done during the loss against Chelsea last week. The Sweden international was beaten all ends up by Marcus Rashford on far too many occasions and, although he was left isolated at times, his performance still left a lot to be desired.

Krafth was dribbled past on three occasions and also gave the ball away 12 times and failed to win an aerial duel throughout the game (Sofascore). The 26-year-old kept plugging away even when left exposed against a player with Rashford’s ability, but it was another performance which suggested that the Magpies might need to find another option to start at right-back.

Newcastle fans bemoan Krafth’s latest struggles

Many Newcastle fans were left frustrated that Krafth is their starting right-back at the moment, believing that he is nowhere near good enough for the Premier League. One fan even described the 2019 summer deadline day signing as a “panic buy”.
