Newcastle have been linked with interest in Martinez, but should they go for him our Poulsen?

Poulsen has the European experience, having played in Germany, but Martinez is in red hot form and has the connection with Miguel Almiron already established from their time together at Atlanta.

His relationship with Almiron makes him the ideal candidate, as he could help to unlock the Paraguayn’s full potential. Almiron has zero goals and zero assists since joining the club in January and the arrival of Martinez could bring the best out of him.

This means that the club may be better off bringing Martinez to St. James’ Park over Poulsen in the January transfer window.
