Newcastle fans aren’t optimistic for Tottenham clash following training update

Newcastle haven’t had the best of starts to the new campaign.

Steve Bruce’s side were narrowly defeated by Arsenal on the opening weekend before being outplayed by newly-promoted Norwich City on Saturday.

Things don’t get any easier for the Magpies, who now face a trip to Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday.

And these Magpies fans weren’t too optimistic ahead of the clash against Spurs after the club released the latest training pictures, with Allan Saint-Maximin absent from the group.

It’s easy to see why these Newcastle fans are already in a downbeat mood four days before kick-off.

It looks likely they’ll be without new summer signing Saint-Maximin following the latest update, with club-record signing Joelinton also carrying a knock from last weekend.

Bruce has been criticised for his tactical decisions so far, and plenty will have a close eye on how he sets his side up for the trip to London.

Newcastle are just one of four sides who are yet to register a point in the Premier League, and judging by these fans, that wait could go on for at least another week.

matchday.
