‘Worrying words’ – these Newcastle fans aren’t buying Dummett’s comments
Paul Dummett was the unlucky man who had to front media duties following the club’s woeful away defeat at Norwich City on Saturday.
Steve Bruce’s side were outplayed for the majority of the meeting, with Teemu Pukki’s hat-trick sealing the Canaries’ first win of the campaign.
The Magpies are now one of four sides who are yet to pick up a single point from their opening two fixtures, with Bruce and co now scheduled for a tricky trip to Tottenham next weekend.
And following the defeat, Dummett, speaking exclusively to NUFC TV, handed out some home truths to his fellow teammates.
Twitter: “Every one of us has got to look in the mirror and know it’s not good enough.”

However, these Newcastle fans weren’t buying the defender’s comments and quickly replied to the club’s official tweet.

Unfortunately, Dummett is in the firing line from a large number of angry fans. The Magpies supporters have every right to be fuming following the performance on Saturday, and it appears as if the club are in real trouble.
Bruce may not have much longer to impress at St James’ Park, with some fans already calling for the 58-year-old to be sacked.
The next four league games are crucial. Defeats away to both Tottenham and Liverpool are probably expected by a large percentage of supporters. However, failing to pick up any points at St James’ Park against Watford and Brighton could spell the end.
