Nicholas backs Almiron to shine – will he finally announce himself against Norwich?

Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has identified Miguel Almiron as the Newcastle player who could impress against Norwich on Saturday.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Arsenal and Celtic man predicted a 2-1 win for Newcastle and is hopeful that the creative midfielder can be the difference-maker for Steve Bruce’s side.

Bruce is quite good at manipulating teams especially away from home. Miguel Almiron looks quick and will be the star here.

Almiron is yet to really showcase his true potential at Newcastle since making the move from the MLS, could Norwich be the game where he announces himself to the Toon fans?

The stage could finally be set for Almiron to make a big impact on Saturday.

With Emi Buendia lining up on the other side for Norwich, it may well turn into a battle of the South American playmakers.

Allan Saint-Maximin is due to miss the game, meaning Almiron’s quality on the ball will be even more crucial to Newcastle’s hopes of taking all three points.

Playing alongside Joelinton, Almiron was below par against Arsenal, managing just two shots and two successful dribbles. He’ll be hoping for more freedom at Carrow Road, where Norwich’s openness at the back could work in his favour.

After being booked for diving against the Gunners, Almiron needs to adapt to the Premier League quickly if he wants to justify his big-money price tag.
