Newcastle appear to have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of defender Rogerio, according to reports.
The Sassuolo full-back, on loan from Juventus, had been linked with the Magpies in recent weeks, while Chelsea were are said to be interested.
Rafa Benitez is keen on strengthening his side the best he can this month, with a full-back near the top of his wish-list.
Rogerio, 20, has been a mainstay for the Serie A side this season, having made 17 appearances in the league. However Juventus are willing to recall him this month if a permanent offer becomes a possibility.
While Newcastle were interested in the Brazil youth international, a report today claims that Wolves have made the first move.
Tuttomercato claim, as cited by the Shields Gazette, that Nuno Espírito Santo’s men have offered €18million for his services, which could scupper the Magpies potential move.
It isn’t known whether the Tyneside outfit could match Wolves’ amount, but it could likely mean Benitez is forced to considered other targets.
