Newcastle United have enquired about an Everton trio in a bid to improve the Magpies’ midfield in the transfer window.
Several reports last week claimed that Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez had enquired about Tom Cleverley, who Burnley are also rumored to be interested in, with a six-month loan on the table. But for this deal to happen Everton boss Ronald Koeman wants a replacement first. The replacement could arrive at Everton soon according to reports stating that Morgan Schneiderlin of Manchester United is close to joining the Merseyside club.
The Evening Chronicle now report that United have asked about the availability of another two Everton stars.
Another name that Newcastle have enquired about is James McCarthy, who the United boss rates highly. If the bids are unsuccessful this window the club are looking likely to chase Cleverley and McCarthy again in the summer window.
The last of the trio already looks likely not to happen, as interest was dropped rapidly, but it is understood that Newcastle also asked about Gerard Deulofeu, who is also attracting interest from the Italian top flight club A.C. Milan
If United can’t manage to get any of the trio that they wish for they are looking at other English, European and surprisingly Middle-Eastern clubs to fill the squad. Including Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and their London neighbors Chelsea after interest of the young midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Whilst also sparking an interest with Robert Snodgrass from Hull City and the French club Montpelier are also said to have offered midfielder Ryad Boudebouz to the North-East club, though Benitez wishes to look elsewhere.
