Newcastle kicked off their Championship campaign with a disappointing 1-0 loss to Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Newcastle have been heavily tipped to walk the Championship this season, but tonight’s result will come as a timely reminder that it isn’t all about technical ability in the Championship.
Fulham outworked Newcastle, which is what gave them the deserved result in the end, with Matt Smith bulleting home a header at the end of the first half.
We still have to pick out a man of the match for Newcastle, however, so we’ll do so using a Duel.
You’ll be presented with two players, simply select which of the two had a better game. We’ll go winner-stays-on style until we have an overall winner.
