25-year-old Gayle has made the switch from life in the top-flight, in seek of regular first-team football and is a seperate deal to any of those concerning fellow Englishman, Andros Townsend who has been a rumoured target for the South London side.
Gayle joined the Eagles from Peterbrough United back in 2013, and has made 63 appearances for the Red and Blue men, netting on 15 occasions.
Highlights of the forward’s career at Selhurst Park include his famous goals against Liverpool in the dramatic 3-3 draw that ultimately cost the Merseysider’s the Premier League title, and his aeroplane celebration.

Gayle was named as Crystal Palace’s top goalscorer in all competitions last season, despite the fact the former Dagenham & Redbridge striker failing to cement himself a regular spot in Alan Pardew’s side, because of his struggles to remain injury free.
