Who was Newcastle’s best player against Liverpool?

We want to know who the fans think Newcastle United’s stand-out player was in the 2-2 Premier League draw with Liverpool, and to find this out, we have set up a duel.

Liverpool took a very early lead thanks to a second-minute goal by Daniel Sturridge. Adam Lallana then doubled the Reds’ lead on the half-hour mark, leaving the Geordie faithful in disarray.

The Magpies went in at half-time two goals down with their fans fearing the worst, but Rafa Benitez was prepared to admit defeat. Instead, the Spaniard worked wonders during the interval.

Three minutes after the break, Papiss Cisse netted his first goal since November to give Newcastle a glimmer of hope.

Jack Colback equalised with 65 minutes on the clock, after Liverpool failed to clear a floated cross from Andros Townsend.

Both sides had chances to grab a winner, but in the end, they had to settle for a point each.

So, which Newcastle players impressed you the most?

Our Duel feature will present you with two players and you’ll just need to select which of the two you thought had a better game. You’ll then be able to see which players other supporters thought played well by checking out the leaderboard.

We’ll go through all of the players in a ‘winner stays on’ type vote, so, the player you click with the final vote should be your own Man of the Match.

*We’ve not included Mitrovic and Shelvey as they didn’t play long enough to be considered*

matchday.
