Norwich City 3-2 Newcastle United: Player Ratings

Newcastle threw themselves deeper into the mire this afternoon following a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat to Norwich, with the winner coming in the final few seconds of the game.

Aleksandar Mitrovic brought Newcastle level on two occasions, but a leaky Newcastle defence allowed Norwich a late winner with a Martin Olsson strike.

This result leaves Newcastle six points away from safety with seven games remaining. Time is running out with some relatively tough fixtures ahead but Rafa still remains very confident and believes this team can, in fact, beat the drop.

This is what Rafa had to say following the defeat at Carrow Road:

It is more difficult but we have to keep confident that we can still do it.

We have seven games to go and we have to keep pushing. If we start winning games we still have time.

The result may prove very costly especially after coming from behind twice only to lose due to defensive errors.
