Newcastle United are planning a move for Argentina international Lucas Orban. The Valencia left back is thought highly of inside the doors of St. James’ Park, with former Valencia assistant manager Ian Cathro recommending Orban.

According to the Daily Mail, the Magpies face stiff competition from other unnamed Premier League sides.
Newcastle United are currently short on defenders and a six month loan move for the versatile Argentine would suit both clubs. Orban is a natural left-back however he can play at centre-half too.
The left back has only made twelve appearances so far this season, building on his sixteen appearances since joining in 2014 from Bordeaux. The move reportedly cost Valencia £2.5-million.
Orban has made two appearances for Argentina, the last of which coming in March of 2015. Newcastle United have a fellow Argentine on their books in Fabricio Coloccini, which could also aid the left-back in settling in should he move to Tyneside.
