According to Sky Sports twitter account, Guilherme Siqueira is close to completing a deal with Newcastle United. The 29-year old is set to join the Magpies on a short term loan contract, having only played one game in La Liga for the Spanish giants this season.
Siqueira started his career at Udinese before moving to Granada and then Atletico in 2014. He is eligible to represent both Italy and Spain but chose Spain.
The left-back joined Benfica on loan from Granada in 2012/13 before his move to Atletico. In his time there winning the Primeira Liga, the Taca de Liga, the Taca de Portugal and being part of a side which finished as runners-up in the UEFA Europa League.
Siqueria was born in Brazil but moved to Europe in 2004 as an 18-year old. He signed for Inter Milan and was later loaned out to Lazio as a youth player.
