According to Goal.com, Newcastle United have declared an interest in Barcelona youngster Sandro Ramirez. The Catalan club are looking to offload the 20-year old winger as signings Arda Turan and Alex Vidal are now eligible to play.
Sandro has known he wouldn’t feature in Barcelona’s main see since October, having being informed by manager Luis Enrique. Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are set to battle it out for him.
The Guardian reported Newcastle’s search for a winger will continue. There are conflicting reports over the potential signing of Andros Townsend, seeing Steve McClaren looking to ensure he has options should the move fall through.
Barcelona rejected a loan bid from Real Betis, preferring to sell the youngster instead.
Ramirez has made 10 appearances in La Liga this season, providing a single assist and failing to find the net. He featured 9 times for Spain Under-19’s, scoring 4 goals, going on to represent the Under-21’s 3 times.
