Newcastle United are set to sell Mike Williamson back to Wolves on a permanent deal, according to a report from the Express & Star.
The defender has already been on loan at Wolves this season, making five impressive appearances for the club as he filled in the for the injured Ethan Ebanks-Landell. In his five appearances for the Black County club, they had three clean sheets.
However, his loan was ended early when Newcastle recalled him early due to a glut of injuries to their defence.

Ironically, though, he picked up a hamstring injury shortly after returning to Tyneside, meaning his time on the pitch at St James’ Park has been limited.
With Williamson’s contract set to expire in the summer, Wolves would not have to pay much to add some much-needed experience to their back line.
Last Sunday, Sheffield Wednesday cut through Wolves’ youthful defence time and time again as they won 4-1, so one could say that a return for Williamson makes sense.
