Newcastle captain Fabricio Coloccini is staying positive about the club’s future and is confident that he and his teammates can build on the last three displays.
The Argentine scored the opening goal in the Magpies’ 1-1 draw vs Aston Villa on Saturday evening, and his form has improved in recent weeks.
A return of seven points out of a possible nine against Liverpool, Tottenham and Aston Villa has seen United enter the top six of the Premier League’s form table.

The 33-year-old spoke after the game (quoted by BT Sport), and analysed the team’s performance:
“It’s always nice when you can help the team to take a point. That’s very important because we are still going forward – we didn’t lose the game – and that’s going to be important at the end of the year.”
“It was a bit difficult. There was too much water on the pitch – that’s why we couldn’t play much football, like we normally try to do.”
But in the end, we got a point. If you look, it’s important. From the last nine points, we have taken seven, so it’s positive.
Coloccini’s partnership with summer signing Chancel Mbemba has somewhat blossomed in recent weeks, and with Everton up next up for the Magpies, the Geordie faithful will hope that their partnership can continue to flourish.
