Newcastle United have joined a long list of clubs who have shown an interest in Leicester City’s 18-year-old defender, Ben Chilwell.
This is according to the Yorkshire Post, who claim that Newcastle United scouts joined those from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the directors’ box at Huddersfield, where the young defender is on loan at the moment.
Having featured during Leicester City’s pre-season prior to the Premier League kicking off in August, Chilwell was awarded the number 30 shirt by new Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri. He played a huge part in Leicester’s 1-1 draw with Wolves in the League Cup, which went all the way to a penalty shootout.

On 19th of November this year, Chilwell joined the Terriers on loan. Jason Davidson, who is normally first-choice at centre-back for Huddersfield, has been kept out of the side by Chilwell so far – despite the young defender not being nineteen until the 21st of December.
Chilwell has played for England at under-18, under-19 and under-20 level already – and hasn’t shown any signs of stopping yet.
