Aymen Abdennour wants to move to a Premier League club this summer but not to West Ham, according to his agent.
Abdennour’s agent has told Calcio Mercato that his client would be willing to move to England, away from France, but not if it means joining the Hammers.
The 25-year-old is one of the highest rated defenders in French football, playing a key role in Monaco’s impressive Champions League run last season.
The Tunisian international is set for a move away from the Ligue 1 side, with it being another hot star about to leave Monaco, following James Rodriquez’s departure to Real Madrid only a year ago.
Abdelkader Jilani, Abdennour’s agent, said this in his interview with the Italian media outlet: “We’ve never been contacted by Milan, or any Italian club,” said Jilani.
“Abdennour wants to play in the Premier League or La Liga, not in Italy. The path leading to West Ham is closed. Would he consider Milan? No, because he doesn’t want to go to Italy. I repeat, England or Spain is his future.”
With the defender excelling in European’s elite competition last year, it’s obvious the defender won’t want to miss out on the tournament, because of his next move.
With moves to either Chelsea or Manchester City unlikely, Manchester United and Arsenal would be candidates for the defenders signature. Both of those sides need defenders and have Champions League football next campaign.
Newcastle have already had a €17million bid rejected for the defender.
