Newcastle United are scouting Malaga star Juanmi as the club looks to explore the Spanish market once more.
The release clause of Juanmi has been revealed at a low fee of €7million, according to a report by El Desmarque. The 22-year old has excelled this season as he continues to put in exceptional performances. Juanmi was called up by Spain boss Vicente Del Bosque, who gave him his Spain debut in March against Netherlands in Amsterdam.
The Geordies had success with former Tenerife striker Ayoze Perez and are looking to tap into the Spanish market for more bargains. The club is serious about their interest in the Spanish forward, as they believe his low release clause can’t be ignored. Diario SUR reports that Malaga are in need to sell this summer to keep the books balanced.
Newcastle will have to wait where they end up next season, before making a move for Juanmi. The club will know the future of the club this Sunday, and whether they will be aiming for Premier League or Championship targets. United has another list of targets set in case of relegation. If they remain in the top division, then Juanmi is a real possibility for the Magpies.
The Spaniard is low on the club’s priorities, as they are planning to pursue other targets, such as Danny Ings and Aleksandar Mitrovic. But, with relegation looming, Graham Carr may be forced to identify targets from his alternate short-list of lesser candidates. Failure to beat West Ham on Sunday, and a win for Hull City, would see Newcastle relegated to the Championship.
